Edinburgh Law School researchers explore the causes and consequences of inequalities across a range of policy domains, contributing new data sources and methodological approaches and generating reflections on how laws can be made and applied in more equitable ways.

Edinburgh Study of Youth Transitions and Crime

The Edinburgh Study of Youth Transitions and Crime (ESYTC) is a programme of research that aims to address a range of fundamental questions about the causes of criminal and risky behaviours in young people. The core of the programme is a major longitudinal study of a single cohort of around 4,300 young people who started secondary school in Edinburgh in the autumn of 1998.

Incorporating Human Rights in Scotland

Working with key partners (Human Rights Consortium Scotland, Amnesty Scotland and Together), this project brings academic research together with civil society expertise to develop a framework for best practice on incorporation, ensuring that civil society organisations have the information and training they need in order to influence key decision-makers.
