Strands of this work confront urgent questions at the heart of understanding how law shapes optimal conditions for justice in a densely connected world.

Clean ECA Hub

Export credit agencies (ECAs) are government-funded bodies that support exporting activities of domestic businesses. Japan and South Korea are the world’s biggest financiers of new Indonesian coal developments through export credit agencies. The Clean ECA Hub will investigate the climate consequences of this financing in Indonesia, and alternative pathways for low carbon development.

Keith Forum on Commonwealth Constitutionalism

The central objective of the Keith Forum on Commonwealth Constitutionalism is to harness the reservoir of comparative ideas from the Commonwealth for current UK constitutional debates; and conversely, to benefit Commonwealth states facing similar challenges, from a closer engagement with constitutional developments in the UK.

Reversing the Gaze

'Reversing the Gaze’ studies political phenomena in Europe through concepts developed in and from the Global South. By ‘reversing our gaze’ – that is, studying Europe through the Global South, rather than analysing the South through ideal-types developed from Europe – it aims to generate new empirical insights into European politics, and new methodological and theoretical perspectives on conducting comparisons.
