Postgraduate studies

Edinburgh Law School has an extensive and lively postgraduate community studying for the degrees of LLM (both taught and by research) and PhD. The Edinburgh Centre for Private Law acts as a natural home for those working on private law topics.

Private Law - Postgraduate studies

Of particular note for students interested in private law in a European context is the LLM in Comparative and European Private Law. Building on Edinburgh’s considerable strength in the field of private law and its unique position in Europe’s main mixed (i.e. Anglo-Roman) legal system, this programme allows students to study in depth the main fields of private law across the divide between Europe’s two great legal traditions.
