Professor Paul J. du Plessis, Professor of Roman Law and Director of the Centre for Legal History, is a series editor of the newly established Edinburgh Studies in Roman Law. Joining Professor du Plessis as editors are Dr Peter Candy, University of Cambridge and Professor Anna Tarwacka, Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw.

The publication is designed to be a focal point for publishing Roman law scholarship in English. Building on an increasing interest in studying Roman law in the Anglophone world, this series will provide a natural home for scholarly publications on Roman law produced in the English language. The series focuses on the field of Roman law including public, private and criminal law, and dogmatic, historical and philosophical approaches.

Interested in writing for Edinburgh Studies in Roman Law

The team value high-quality research written by academics at any stage of their careers and are keen to make the work of early-career researchers available to a broad audience. The editors will work with early-to mid-career scholars to develop their books.

The series will publish monographs, edited collections, and critical editions of primary sources on Roman law. It will cover all areas of Roman law, including criminal, public and private law.
