Future of Legal Education conference Glasgow

Lindsay Jack, Director of the Student Experience,  spoke at Glasgow Law School’s ‘The Future of Legal Education’ conference held on 19th and 20th May.

Glasgow Law School ran the two-day conference that set out to discuss all aspects of legal education including access to the legal profession, the current curriculum, other jurisdictions, and changing trainee expectations.  Speakers included practitioners, academics, students, and representatives from The Law Society of Scotland.  The opening address was given by Lord Eassie, Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on Legal Education.

Lindsay was invited to speak about widening participation into both legal education and the legal profession, and spoke in a session alongside Stephen Bogle (of Glasgow Law School), and Lauren Bowie (trainee at Pinsent Masons, and founder of Legable). Lindsay also took part in a panel comprised of some of the Thursday speakers. It is hoped the conference may become an annual event with a strong desire to continue these important conversations whatever the format.
