Latham & Watkins run a number of events, both on and off campus, throughout the academic year.

A Latham & Watkins open day is a great way to find out more about the work we do, and to get an insight into our culture. During each open day, you’ll listen to panels, take part in case studies, and learn more about the application processes for our programmes. You’ll also network with our trainees, and gain further insight into life at Latham.

We run a number of open days throughout the academic year which are open to all students and graduates. Visit our website to find out more [external site], and to apply.

Travel costs, excluding flights and first-class travel, can be reimbursed by the firm.

Our spring and summer Vacation Schemes allow you to support client-facing work alongside your peers, offering a genuine understanding of life as a trainee solicitor. You will work closely with experienced lawyers, learning more about the culture of the firm. Over the two weeks, you will also gain broad exposure to the different practice areas through presentations run by our associates. At the end of the scheme, you’ll have the chance to interview for a training contract.

The deadline to apply for the Vacation Schemes is Sunday, 7 December 2025. You can find out further information, and submit your application here [external site].

A Latham training contract combines real responsibility on global matters with supervision from world-class lawyers who foster professional development.

Our trainees benefit from an in-depth induction programme designed to bridge the gap between law schools and practice, as well as technical training at the start of each seat. After induction, our trainees complete four, six-month seats - two of which will be in corporate and finance. They then have the opportunity to apply for a secondment on either their third or fourth seat.

Latham & Watkins hires for training contracts exclusively from their Vacation Schemes. You can find out further information, and submit your application here [external site].
