Support during your studies

There are many sources of support at The University of Edinburgh. This page outlines useful contacts should you need them at any stage of your studies with us.

During your studies, you will have a dedicated Student Adviser who will be your first point of contact for any support, including:

  • Your studies
  • Your wellbeing
  • Practical matters

Your Student Adviser will be part of the Law School’s Student Support Team. They work with teams of specialist staff, University services and academics to support you throughout your studies.

Look out for communications and emails over the coming months about your Student Adviser, and how to contact the Student Support Team.

Wellbeing Advisers can provide you with advice on wellbeing-related issues and recommend other specialist services, such as the Student Counselling Service or our Disability and Learning Support Service, who may be able to help you.

You will have an Academic Lead. Your Programme Director is best placed to provide academic guidance to meet the specific needs of your programme of study, facilitate communications and group activities, such as academic drop-ins and celebrations of key events, creating an academic community within your programme cohort.
