Professor Burkhard Schafer has joined as an external advisor and collaborator, a research team based at the University of Dubai exploring the regulatory and legal implications of Dubai’s “Air Taxi” initiative. Dubai is trialling the use of  eco-friendly air taxis (e-VTOL) to improve efficiency in urban transport. The aim of the project is to help address concerns about safety, trust, privacy, and regulation remain among UAE residents, and to develop a regulatory environment that ensures safety, trustworthiness and accountability. This exciting new collaboration builds on our previous joint activities in the context of Dubai’s ambitious self-driving mobility strategy that aims to transform 25% of transport into autonomous vehicles by 2030.

News and publications will become available from the project website
