PSRP launches second version of peace agreement database
Thu 27 June 2019
The Political Settlements Research Programme (PSRP) has launched Version 2 of the PA-X Peace Agreements Database. The updated database includes 200 new documents and introduces additional search tools and a timeline feature.
PA-X is a database and repository of over 1,700 peace agreements from 1990 to 2018 that provides easy access to peace agreement texts and allows users to explore patterns of agreements over time. PA-X is free to use and open to all, including mediators and parties in conflict, civic actors, and social science researchers. The database is capable of underpinning both quantitative and qualitative research.
PA-X was conceptualised using a British Academy Small Research Grant and developed with core funding from the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), with additional funding from The University of Edinburgh’s ESRC Impact Accelerator Fund and Grand Challenges Research Fund (GCRF). Since its launch in 2018 it has received wide interest as a valuable tool to those involved in peace processes.
Version 2 of the database is now live on the PA-X website.
