Professor Sharon Cowan to speak at Holyrood's Transgender Equality event

This event will look at issues facing trans people and how to promote transgender equality

Sharon Cowan, Professor of Feminist and Queer Legal Studies, will be speaking tomorrow at a special Holyrood event designed to promote transgender equality.

The UK Parliament's Women and Equalities Committee report on Transgender Equality, released in January, said that there is a long way to go for transgender equality and made over 30 policy recommendations.

At Holyrood's "Next steps for transgender equality: improving knowledge, understanding and practice", held in alliance with the Scottish Transgender Alliance, will help delegates adopt a holistic approach to improving knowledge and understanding of the issues facing trans people.
