Professor Schafer moderates panel at European Annual Conference of ACC

On Monday 13th May 2019, Professor Burkhard Schafer, Professor of Computational Legal Theory at the Edinburgh Law School, moderated and participated in a panel discussion at the European Annual Conference of the Association of Corporate Lawyers (ACC).
The association, which celebrates its 25th year in 2019, held this year’s annual conference at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
Professor Schafer participated in the conference as part of a panel titled ‘The march of the machines? The legal and ethical issues’ which discussed the ethical and regulatory challenges that Artificial Intelligence will bring to corporate legal practice. Also taking part in the panel were Sophia Adams Bhatti, Operational Director of Legal and Regulatory Policy of The Law Society, Carolyn Herzog, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Arm, and Roelien van Neck, Partner at Bird & Bird LLP.
