Professor Jo Shaw joins editorial team of Global Constitutionalism journal
Thu 11 July 2019
Professor Jo Shaw, Salvesen Chair of European Institutions at the Edinburgh Law School, will join the editorial team for academic journal Global Constitutionalism (GlobCon).
Global Constitutionalism is published by Cambridge University Press and “offers an interdisciplinary space for addressing the foundations, limitations and contestations of the principles and norms of political order and their dynamics over time on a global scale.”
On the appointment of Prof Shaw, the journal's editorial team said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Professor Jo Shaw as an incoming Editor for Global Constitutionalism: Human Rights - Democracy - Rule of Law (published with Cambridge University Press since 2012). This appointment allows the Editors to build on a successful collaboration between Profs Shaw and Wiener as founding editors of the internet journal ConWEB: Webpapers on Governance and Constitutionalism Beyond the State, between 2000 and 2009. This journal was the effective forerunner of GlobCon.
“As reactions on social media have already abundantly demonstrated today, Professor Shaw’s acceptance of our invitation to join GlobCon has been very well received by co-editors, authors and future contributors alike.
“We extend a warm welcome and look forward to the first Editors’ meeting at the University of Southampton in November 2019.”
This new editorial role accompanies Prof Shaw's long-running work as one of the two founding co-editors of Cambridge Studies in European Law and Policy for CUP and her recent appointment to the Editorial Board of the Oxford Encyclopaedia of EU Law, where she will be responsible for commissioning and editing entries in the area of European integration.
Prof Shaw is joined by fellow new appointees Dr Jacob Eisler of the University of Southampton and Professor Val Napolean of the University of Victoria.
