Professor Elspeth Reid authors book on the Law of Delict in Scotland

Professor Elspeth Reid, Emeritus Professor of Scottish Private Law at Edinburgh Law School, has recently published ‘The Law of Delict in Scotland’ with Edinburgh University Press. 

The book gives a comprehensive account of modern law of Delict in Scotland, providing historical and comparative context, and covers negligence, injuries to specific interests (such as defamation and assault), statutory liability, and defences and remedies. 

Professor Reid has published extensively in Scotland and abroad on comparative private law themes, including in particular the law of delict/tort. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, an Associate Member of the International Academy of Comparative Law and also a qualified solicitor.
