Professor Elisa Morgera presents benefit-sharing findings to group of UN experts

Edinburgh Law School academic shared research on multilateral benefit-sharing experiences in intrnational law at the Expert Group Meeting on 1 February.

Elisa Morgera, Professor in Global Environmental Law, presented via videoconference to the Expert Group Meeting on Article 10 of the Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit-Sharing to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity.

The Convention was held between 1-2 February 2016 in Montreal, Canada. The study presented by Prof. Morgera is the result of a consultancy awarded by the CBD Secretariat to review and analyse experiences gained with the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol. It incorporates case studies on ex situ and in situ genetic resources, traditional knowledge associated with genetic resources and transboundary situations.
