Professor Burkhard Schafer to appear at Festival of Politics

Academic will discuss "Fourth Industrial Revolution" at Scottish Parliament
Edinburgh Law School's Professor Burkhard Schafer will be presenting as part of the Scottish Parliament's Festival of Politics this Friday, 19th August.
Professor Schafer will be discussing, together with panellists from the UK and US, how the “Fourth Industrial Revolution” will affect the way we work, play and socialise in a future that we share with intelligent and autonomous machines.
This panel session will be followed by a screening of the film Ex Machina and a second panel session featuring Professor Schafer. He will be joined by Dr David Sorfa (Director of the MSc in Film Studies) and Dr Gill Haddow (Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow: Society and Ethics).
