Prof Paul du Plessis awarded Visiting Fellowship at All Souls College, Oxford

All Souls College at the University of Oxford has named Prof Paul du Plessis as a Visiting Fellow for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Visiting Fellowships are awarded to eminent individuals who wish to carry out study and research in Oxford and to participate in the academic life of the College.

Prof du Plessis holds the chair of Roman law at Edinburgh Law School and is an internationally renowned legal historian whose research focuses predominantly on the multifaceted and complex set of relationships between law and society in a historical context. He will use the Fellowship to explore the use of Roman law by the Victorian jurist, Henry Maine (1822 – 1888).
