On 17 September Navraj spoke at the US Standing Committee on Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal (mCDR) of the National Academy of Sciences Engineering and Medicine. The Committee is quantifying the ocean’s natural carbon sink, the demand for mCDR and the global constraints of mCDR.

Navraj spoke on the state of planning and permitting in the UK and EU, the current state of mCDR policy within national and international spaces, what progress has been made and what future research is needed to develop policy that will enable responsible mCDR research to take place.

This builds on work within the two of Navraj's projects, namely, CO2RE and SEAO2-CDR, and especially a soon-to-be-published regulatory review of CDR in the UK with Marsaili van Looy.
