Fri 30 April 2021
On Tuesday 27 April 2021, Navraj Singh Ghaleigh presented a paper on ‘Mainstreaming Just Transitions: risks, rewards, and application to the North Sea’ at an online workshop exploring the connections and scope for interaction between labour law and environmental law, hosted by the European Union Trade Institute (EUTI).
The ‘Exploring interfaces between labour and environmental law’ workshop brought together experts in labour law, environmental and climate law to explore the context of climate change and the just transition.
The first panel discussed the interfaces between labour law and environmental law within just transition and sustainable development policies. The second panel evaluated several avenues of inquiry into the connections and potential channels of communication between labour law and environmental law.
In presenting his paper, Navraj Singh Ghaleigh commences the conversation between labour law and social democratic thought, and environmental and climate law - bodies of law, practice, and scholarship which have rarely engaged directly with one another.
