LLM students to participate in high-profile WTO Moot Court Competition
Tue 21 January 2014
Thanks to funding provided by Edinburgh Law School, the team will take part in the first Regional (Selection) Round in Prague on 10-14 March 2014. Should they successfully qualify, they will subsequently attend the Final Round in Geneva and compete against the top 20 teams in the world.
The Edinburgh Law School team is comprised of:
- Anne-Marie Dörnenburg (LLM International Law);
- Naveed Nanjee (LLM Global Environment and Climate Change Law);
- Shauna O’Brien (LLM International Economic Law);
- and Joshua Yawney (LLM International Economic Law)
The team coaches are Dr. Gracia Marín Durán and Ms Ana María Daza, who will be supporting and accompanying the students throughout the competition.
The ELSA Moot Court Competition is a simulated hearing of the WTO dispute settlement system. It is possibly the highest-profile event of its kind in the field of WTO law, in which many of the world’s best Law Schools participate. This seems therefore the perfect venue for the University of Edinburgh to expose the high legal talent that our Law School offers in an international environment.
Further updates on the team’s progress will be reported but for more information or to follow the 12th ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO law, please visit their website.
