We are proud to share the news that 'Runner up Oralist' at the Northern European Rounds of the annual Price Moot Court Competition was awarded to LLB student of Edinburgh Law School, Luca Montag.
A team from the University of Edinburgh Law School participated in the Northern European Rounds of the University of Oxford’s Price Media Law Moot Court Competition 2021, hosted in partnership with Paris Descartes University.
This year's competition was held virtually from Monday 8 - Wednesday 10 February.
The Price Media Law Moot Court Competition has been part of the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights in the Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford, since 1 August 2017. The moot challenges students to engage in comparative research of legal standards at the national, regional and international levels, and to develop their arguments (in written and oral forms) on cutting-edge questions in media and ICT law.
Each university may send a team comprising up to six members. The Edinburgh Law School team consisted of Oralists Maxwell Brodie, Luca Montag and Fraser Rodger from the LL.B. programme, and Eilidh McSherry from the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice. The Oralists were assisted by Roberta Giusti from the Diploma and Kate McIntosh from the Graduate LL.B. programme as researchers; and Thomas Broderick from the Ph.D. programme served as the team coach.
Luca Montag received the award as the second best oralist in the overall competition.
