Launch of new 'Dangerous Women' book to take place on International Women's Day

A new book from the Dangerous Women Project, co-edited by Professor Jo Shaw, is due to be released on 3 March 2022 with a launch event to take place on International Women’s Day 8 March.
The book comprises contributions made to the original project which ran from IWD 2016 to IWD 2017 and includes work from ‘poets, playwrights, artists, academics, journalists, historians, performers and opinion-formers’. The pieces have been revised and updated for this book and details of more than 350 additional contributions to the project have also been included.
Among the contributors included in the book are Nicola Sturgeon MSP, broadcaster and journalist Bidisha, playwright Jo Clifford, prize-winning novelist Irenosen Okojie, acclaimed journalist Jean Rafferty, and many more.
Ahead of the launch Professor Jo Shaw has appeared on BBC Woman’s Hour alongside Bidisha discussing what it means to be a ‘dangerous woman’ in 2022, as well as giving interviews to BBC London and BBC Merseyside. The book has been featured by Stylist magazine as one of their best new books for March 2022.
