Intellectual Property Law students visit the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art - Modern One
Fri 30 October 2026
Students on Edinburgh Law School's LLM in Intellectual Property Law recently enjoyed a visit to the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art - Modern One for a guided tour led by Dr Smita Kheria, Senior Lecturer in Intellectual Property Law.
Cohort events are a feature of Edinburgh Law School's LLM programmes, giving students the chance to connect outside classroom. During the tour, students had the opportunity to view and consider notable artworks on display inside the gallery and outside in the surrounding sculpture park.
Dr Kheria's primary areas of teaching and research expertise are in copyright and related rights, and her empirical research has examined how copyright intersects with the everyday lives and practices of creative communities. For our students, the gallery tour offered an invaluable opportunity to hear more from academic staff in their field of research expertise and to develop and extend their learning by examining the relationship between copyright and contemporary art in the setting of one of Scotland's leading arts institutions.
