A former Edinburgh Law School PhD student has been awarded the British Society of Criminology’s Brian Williams Prize.
This accolade is awarded to the “author of a criminological article who is a ‘new’ scholar, published in a refereed academic journal.”
Dr Diarmaid Harkin, who completed his ESRC-funded PhD project at Edinburgh Law School in 2014, received the prize for his article ‘The Police and Punishment: Understanding the Pains of Policing,’ which was published in Theoretical Criminology.
Dr Harkin is now appointed as Lecturer in Criminology at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia.
