A current PhD student of the Edinburgh Law School, Kenneth Campbell QC, has been appointed as a sheriff of Lothian and Borders. The appointment will take effect from 14th September 2020.

Kenneth was called to the Bar in 1996 and took silk in 2011. He has experience as a civil litigation solicitor, has practised in a number of areas of civil law, and has appeared in courts and tribunals at all levels in Scotland and before the UK Supreme Court. Graduating from Glasgow University and then going on to gain a Masters degree from the University of London, Kenneth is now completing his PhD with the Edinburgh Law School on ‘The role of the Scottish ‘settlement’ in the emergence of constitutional laws and Britain’s ‘unwritten’ constitution.’

On behalf of the Edinburgh Law School, congratulations to Kenneth on his appointment.
