Edinburgh Victory in National Mooting Competition

Wed 26 March 2014

Congratulations to fourth year students Eilidh Marnoch and Amy Pairman on their victory in the Sir Alexander Stone Mooting Competition.

The Sir Alexander Stone Mooting Competition is contested by all the law schools in Scotland, and is hosted by the University of Glasgow. This year’s finalists were Robert Gordon University Aberdeen and Edinburgh, and the moot was judged by the Rt Hon Lady Clark of Calton. The mooting problem was a subtle and difficult one involving the implementation of a contract for the sale of land. Both teams’ standard of performance was high, but Amy and Eilidh's excellent advocacy, team work and legal analysis meant that they were declared the winners of the competition. Edinburgh Law School is extremely proud of Amy and Eilidh and extends its warmest congratulations to them on their victory and wonderful achievement.
