Mon 3 November 2025
We were delighted to welcome Professor Michele Graziadei to Edinburgh Law School as our fourth Dean’s Fellow.
Professor Graziadei is a professor of comparative private law at the University of Turin. He has broad research interests ranging from comparative law to private law, legal pluralism, and the relationship between law and language, all areas in which he has published extensively in several languages.
During his week at Edinburgh Law School Professor Graziadei presented his Dean’s Lecture titled, ‘Gifts, Fairness, Power and Obligation’, and recorded a podcast episode with Professor Neil Walker and Professor Alexandra Braun. During the podcast they discussed differences between legal systems and what attracted Professor Graziadei into the field of comparative law.
The Dean’s Fellowship welcomes world-renowned legal scholars from across the globe. During their time at the Law School, Dean's Fellows will engage in various events and discussions of their research with our academic and student community, and deliver a Dean’s Lecture which is open to the university community and the general public.
