Edinburgh Law School academic invited to advise top European judges on Brexit

Professor Stephen Tierney has been invited to address a meeting of the European Legal Dialogues group of the UK Supreme Court, the Conseil d'Etat, the European Court of Human Rights and the Bundesverfassungsgericht at the site of the German Federal Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe on 24-25 November.

He and Professor Mark Elliott of Cambridge have been asked to discuss the House of Lords Constitution Committee report on Article 50 TEU (Professors Tierney and Elliott serve as legal advisers to the Committee).

Participants at the meeting will include Lord Mance of the UK Supreme Court, (now) President Raimondi, former UK judge Paul Malhoney and present UK judge Tim Eicke of the European Court of Human Rights, and Vice-President Bernard Stirn from the Conseil d'Etat.
