Tue 24 September 2019

Munich

On 13 September 2019, Dr Veronica Ruiz Abou-Nigm presented at the Plenary Session of the Journal of Private International Law (JPIL) Conference in Munich.

The JPIL Conference is a global conference on private international law, taking place in a different country every two years.

This year in Munich the JPIL conference brought together academic and practitioners from over 50 different countries. Reports on the conference published by Conflict of Laws have made reference to the paper Dr Ruiz Abou-Nigm presented together with Ralf Michaels, Director at the Max Planck Institute in Hamburg. The paper posed the question 'Is Private International Law International?' and explained the Private International Law for Laypersons Project (PILL), which has surveyed a number of PIL lawyers.

Earlier this year Dr Ruiz Abou-Nigm presented the findings of the project at the Max Planck Institute.
