Dr Ruiz Abou-Nigm presents project findings in Hamburg

Tue 20 August 2019

Hamburg

On Tuesday 6 August 2019, Dr Veronica Ruiz Abou-Nigm gave a guest lecture at the Max Planck Institute in Hamburg entitled 'Private International Law for Laypeople - A Project Report'.

The Private International Law for Laypeople (PILL) project, which aims to explain the complexities that underlie the discipline of private international law. By interviewing scholars in the field from a wide variety of backgrounds, the project hoped to produce a distillation and systemisation of different paradigms of private international law, and a synthesis or metatheory that brings different approaches together. Ultimately, the project seeks to deliver an educational tool that will offer an introduction into inter-systemic legal thinking that is accessible and useful.

The project is led by Prof Dr Ralf Michaels, Director of the Max Planck Institute, and Dr Ruiz Abou-Nigm, whose recent guest lecture reported on the findings of the project.
