Academic was invited to give personal input into a feasibility study undertaken on behalf of the European Commission
Dr Luca Cerioni, Edinburgh Law School Lecturer in Tax Law, was invited to provide his personal input into a feasibility study on EU tax policy options.
The study is being carried out on behalf of the European Commission by multinational tax consultancy firm Deloitte. The European Commission are interested in exploring the possibility of introducing a "European Tax Identification Number" (European TIN) to facilitate cross-border cooperation in tax matters - particularly tax evasion.
Dr Cerioni's publications have engaged with these issues and his work provides a strong example of how our academic research output has real-world application and impact.
