Dr Elisa Morgera shares research findings with European law firms
Mon 25 May 2015
She discussed her findings on corporate environmental accountability at the intersection of international environmental and human rights law
The event titled "Sustainability for environmental lawyers" took place on 20th May, and was organised by the Swedish law firm Mannheimer Swartling.
The seminar featured expert presentations from business representatives, policy advisers and academic researchers, focusing on resource efficiency, and sustainability initiatives in the energy and mining sectors in particular.
The seminar reflected upon how law firms can advise their clients on sustainability matters, in addition to typical environmental law compliance matters.
Dr Morgera is the Programme Director of the LLM in Global Environment and Climate Change Law.
She is currently preparing the second edition of her monograph Corporate Accountability in International Environmental Law published by Oxford University Press and continues her research on corporate accountability in the context of the European Research Council-funded project "BENELEX - "Benefit-sharing for an equitable transition to the green economy - the role of law" (2013-2018).
