Dr Deval Desai is elected to the Folke Bernadotte Academy’s Research Working Group

The Folke Bernadotte Academy, the Swedish government agency for peace, security and development, has launched a series of new international research working groups, focusing on building peace in conflict-affected centuries. 75 researches have been selected to contribute their expertise to the academy’s work through thematic, geographical and methodological advice. The diverse expertise of this group is expected to strengthen the Folke Bernadotte Academy’s ability to act proactively on emerging trends in peace and security.
Dr Deval Desai, Reader in International Economic Law at the Edinburgh Law School, has been elected to the working groups, to provide particular insight into rights-based governance. This is in recognition of Dr Desai’s expertise, along with his long track-record of translating research on law and governance into development policy and practice at global, national, and local levels.
