Academic's study looks at policing in remote Scottish islands
Dr Anna Souhami, Senior Lecturer in Criminology, has received a grant from the British Academy and the Leverhulme Trust. The funding is to support an ethnographic study on policing in remote Scottish islands.
The award allows Dr Souhami to scale up her current research in Shetland to a comparative study with the Western Isles. The dual site, comparative approach allows for an exploration both of the continuities between island archipelagos and the effects of distinctive island identities and cultures.
