Doctoral training centre in artificial intelligence and biomedicine launched at University of Edinburgh
Wed 5 June 2019
A new UKRI doctoral training centre for biomedical AI, based in the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, was launched on Wednesday 5th June.
Working closely with industry, the centre aims to train 60 PhD students over the next five years in this exciting emerging area.
The SCRIPT Centre at the Edinburgh Law School has been working with colleagues from the Institute for Science Technology and Innovation Studies (ISSTI) in developing a course structure that will also ensure that all of these new PhDs will also have a solid grounding in the social, legal, and ethical implications of these new technologies, and will also co-supervise PhD projects that focus on the legal and ethical questions of biomedical AI.
The application deadline for the first cohort of the UKRI CDT in Biomedical AI is 14th June 2019.
