Alumni Perspectives: Partners of White & Case LLP

On 8 March 2022, Edinburgh Law School was pleased to host an alumni panel with partners from White & Case LLP. The panel included Jacquelyn MacLennan (LLB, 1983), Colin Harley (LLB, 1998) and Chris McGarry (LLB, 2000), and was hosted by Dr Jonny Hardman.
In a wide-ranging discussion, the panelists discussed a variety of topics, including how they began their careers in law, ways to gain exposure to commercial law prior to securing a training contract, the skills needed to be a successful trainee at White & Case, tips for exploring a career at a commercial firm like White & Case, and the advice they wish they’d been given when they started pursuing a career in commercial law.
