Professor Christine Bell's research influential in ongoing peace talks between FARC and the Colombian government

Professor Christine Bell's work has been widely reported in Colombia as central to the peace process between guerilla group FARC and the Colombian government.

Two of the top newspapers in the country, El Spectador and El Tiempo, as well as Colombia's most popular political magazine, have featured the Edinburgh Law School academic's research; they have all emphasised the impact her work has had upon the cessation of hostilities in Colombia.

Professor Bell is continuing to contribute to global justice and equality by presenting and chairing a meeting of the British Academy on responses to protracted crises. To be held on June 3rd, this session will look at how to take forward new Global Justice Academy work on justice and equality.

Additionally, the Political Settlements research project has organised a meeting in Denver, Colorado with a number of international collaborators on 'measuring success and failure' of peace agreements and political settlements. This is an attempt to bring together different data providers and policy-makers interested in measurement for a new collaborative exchange.
