About this event

As early as 1449 legislation was passed in Scotland to give tenants security of tenure where the landlord sells the “landis” [land] during the lease. That legislation is still in force. But after nearly six hundred years the scope of “landis” is not entirely certain. This paper examines the position in relation to leases of the right to shoot game. It analyses the substantial case authority over the centuries before attempting to set out a clear position as to the law today.
