This workshop series aims to bring together a wide range of current workfrom around the world on aspects of penal politics, policies, practices andinstitutions. We hope to continue to expand the scope for comparative analysis ofpenal questions, and to stimulate cross-regional collaboration andexchange between scholars north and south. We hope thereby to build a mutually supportive communityof researchers despite and because of their strikinglydiverse situations.
