Location:

Moot Court Room
Old College

Date/time

Wed 25 March 2026
09:00-11:00

This session offers an opportunity to connect with colleagues across the University and explore how your research may align with and contribute to the work of the Scottish Institute for Policing Research and the Scottish Police Academic Centre of Excellence SPACE.

The event will be led by Dr Andrew Wooff, Director of SIPR, who will outline current priorities, funding streams and opportunities for collaboration. He will be joined by Monica Craig, Head of Operations at SIPR, who will provide further insight into engagement routes and funding mechanisms.

We are also pleased that Dr Alistair Henry, SIPR’s Single Point of Contact for the University of Edinburgh, will attend and discuss how colleagues can engage directly with SIPR.

In addition, Susan McVie, Professor at Edinburgh Law School, will outline her role as lead for the Analytics theme within S-PACE.

Following a short overview, there will be time for discussion and networking to identify shared interests and potential interdisciplinary collaborations.

We are actively seeking engagement from colleagues across the University. Research that may not appear directly connected to policing often has significant relevance, including work in business and management, law, digital innovation, data science, social sciences, health, psychology, engineering, arts and humanities, and beyond.

All colleagues are warmly invited to attend. We look forward to engaging with you and learning more about your research.
