The Scottish Research Centre for IP and Technology Law invites you to an in-person talk with Professor Jane Bailey (Faculty of Law, University of Ottawa) exploring how current models of consent are struggling to keep pace with developments in science and technology.

Drawing from her ongoing collaborative work, Professor Bailey will reflect on the limits of the individual consent model that dominates the legal and regulatory framework as today's technological systems challenge its relevance and effectiveness, and exacerbate its pre-existing deficiencies.

This session is designed to create space for dialogue across disciplines. Following a brief presentation, attendees will be invited to participate in an open conversation about legal, technological, and social conceptions of and alternatives to consent and to share whether and how consent is relevant to their areas of work.

Refreshments will be provided. All are welcome

This event is in person only.
