The Edinburgh Private Law Discussion Group is delighted to welcome Dr Lorna MacFarlane speaking on "Privity and its exceptions in Scots contract law" . After the presentations, attendees are invited to join an open discussion on the issues raised.
Dr MacFarlane was awarded her PhD based on her thesis "Privity and exceptions to Privity in Scots private law: a new taxonomy" by the University of Edinburgh in 2019. Her thesis has subsequently been published as part of the Studies in Scots Law series (available here). She has since qualified as a solicitor and is currently practicing as an associate at Denton's law firm in their Dispute Resolution team.
