Minimum Pricing for Alcohol has been the subject of intense public scrutiny following its introduction in Scotland and Wales. This presentation sets Minimum Pricing in a political and legal context, examining how difficult it can be to answer the question "does it work?" with reference to discourses of national identity in the context of devolution.
About the speaker
Simon Jones is undertaking a PhD at Cardiff University on the political and legal context of Minimum Pricing for Alcohol in Scotland and Wales. He works within the Health and Social Care system in Scotland with a strategic remit for substance use and mental health and has previously worked within both sectors in a variety of roles.
