The ECCL is delighted to host a panel discussion with Dr Lucía Payero-López, who is presenting a paper on ‘Independence referendums and the Spanish Constitution’. Our panellists are Professor Stephen Tierney and Dr Elisenda Casanas Adam. As usual, the panel discussion will be followed by a Q&A.
About the speaker
Dr Payero-López is a Lecturer in Philosophy of Law at the University of Oviedo. Previously, she was a Lecturer in Philosophy of Law at the University of Granada, and a Research Associate in the European Research Council Project ‘Federalism: Dividing Political Power among People(s)’ (Durham Law School). Her research interests lie in the fields of Legal Philosophy, Political Theory and Constitutional Theory, with a particular interest in the accommodation of national minorities within liberal democratic states. She has published on national self-determination, secession, and federalism.
