About the lecture
In Professor David Cabrelli’s inaugural lecture, the changing economic, social and political landscape will be considered to predict the shape of employment laws and their potential effect on the employment relationship of the future. The likely external and internal constraints on the development of employment law in the coming years will be considered, as will the various factors that are external and internal to employment law that will drive forward worker-protective regulations

About the speaker
David Cabrelli is Professor of Labour Law, with teaching and research interests which lie in the fields of labour law and employment law, as well as commercial law, company law and private law. David Cabrelli has published a number of books and papers in a number of academic journals in the field of labour law, e.g. a leading textbook on employment law (now in its third edition), as well as a book on comparative company law (now in its second edition).
His articles have been cited with approval by Lords Hope, Wilson and Sumption in the UK Supreme Court and various other articles published by David have been cited by the Federal Court of Australia, The Supreme Court of South Australia, the Hong Kong High Court, the Law Commission of England and Wales and the Scottish Law Commission.
