Festival of Legal Possibilities
Join us for an insightful career talk hosted by the Faculty of Advocates.
This is the perfect opportunity to find out more about the life of an advocate, how to get in to the profession and where it might take you in the future.
Advocates are specially trained lawyers who are independent and objective. As well as initially having to train as a solicitor, they undergo further training (devilling) and examinations before they can call to the bar. Advocates come from a diverse range of backgrounds but all have an incisive, intelligent interest in the law and a determined approach when it comes to assessing their client's position. They specialise not only in legal analysis but in the presentation of legal arguments and can represent all manner of clients in the highest courts in the land.
We will be joined by two Advocates who will talk about their career paths and how that led them to the Bar. The type of work they undertake, what the training process is like, what life is like being self-employed and more.
The session will and with a Q&A.
