Location:

Old College
Date/time
Thu 23 October 2025
10:00 - 12:00
This workshop will present an international project aimed at supporting domain name holders (particularly individuals, non-profits, and small businesses) in navigating disputes under the Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP). The session will be led by Dr Humberto Carrasco, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Universidad Católica del Norte (Chile), Director of the project, and former doctoral student at the University of Edinburgh.
Designed to engage students, practising lawyers, and academics, the workshop will provide an overview of the project’s objectives and introduce the structure of the forthcoming online course, which covers UDRP fundamentals, procedures, advanced strategies, and clinical practice. It will also be of interest to professionals, researchers, and anyone keen to learn about the role of dispute resolution in the domain name system. The session will conclude with an open discussion on potential collaborations and opportunities for wider involvement.
The event will take place on 23 October, in the Quad Teaching Room.
