The Edinburgh Private Law Discussion Group are delighted to welcome you to our first event of the 2020/21 academic year. The series will be opened with a presentation from Dr Mat Campbell (University of Glasgow) on the topic of “Subsidiarity in Private Law?”, based on his recent paper in the Edinburgh Law Review.
Given the current Covid-19 guidelines, this event will be held online. The event is free to attend, but registration is required. Mat’s paper and the link to the event will be sent to those registered in advance of the meeting.
Please note that it is not a problem if you do not read the paper in advance. At the meeting, the paper will be briefly introduced, principally by reference to its six key arguments. These are stated in one sentence each. In the full paper, material under headings D to I, at pp. 11-22, other than the opening paragraphs, can easily be skimmed or skipped to save time. Mat will be talking to a four-page version of the paper. This is available in Word format to save time for all, and for ease of reference, and will be sent to all attendees before the session.
