Separate Legal Personality
Dr Jonny Hardman launches the new group with a presentation and discussion of recent debates surrounding Separate Legal Personality.
About this Event
The Co-Conveners of the newly established Edinburgh Commercial Law Reading Group are delighted to invite you to our inaugural event. The session will focus on the issue of Separate Legal Personality, specifically referring to three recent articles published in the Journal of Corporate Law Studies:
1. SM Watson, ‘The Corporate Legal Person’ (2019) 19 (1) Journal of Corporate Law Studies 137
2. L Macgregor, ‘‘Partnerships and Legal Personality: Cautionary Tales from Scotland’ 20 Journal of Corporate Law Studies 237
3. J Hardman, ‘Reconceptualising Scottish Limited Partnership Law’, 2020 Journal of Corporate Law Studies View article.
The session will be led by Dr Jonny Hardman, who will present an overview of the issues raised by the articles. Professor Laura Macgregor will then respond to these remarks. The session will then be opened up to participants to contribute to a discussion of the articles.
Given the current Covid-19 guidelines, this event will be held online. The event is free to attend, but registration is required. The link to the event will be sent to those registered in advance of the meeting.
