Edinburgh Centre for Legal Theory Roundtable
The Edinburgh Centre for Legal Theory Roundtables explore nascent fields of inquiry, often located at intersections between traditional legal theory and other academic disciplines.
Our first roundtable will focus on “Virtue, Argumentation, and the Law” and include three special guests, Alessandra Tanesini, Andrew Aberdein, and Iris van Domselaar.
The roundtable will provide a forum for the exchange and discussion of ideas about virtue and argumentation with a view to promoting a cross-fertilisation between virtue approaches to argumentation theory and virtue theories of legal reasoning.
The roundtable will revolve around three short 15-minute reflections by our three guests, and followed by approximately 45 minutes of discussion with the audience.
