The Edinburgh Private Law Discussion Group are delighted to welcome Sheriff Frank Crowe as their first presenter of the 2022/23 session. Sheriff Crowe will be presenting on the topic of "Contact with Siblings" following a recent judgement in an adoption case. The presentation will be followed by an open discussion on some of the issues raised.
Frank Crowe has been a Sheriff for the Sheriffdom of Lothian and Borders since 2009, and while his main areas of speciality have been predominantly criminal and extradition cases he has a wide breadth of experience in family and private law matters. Alongside his role in the judiciary, Sheriff Crowe served as Director of Judicial Studies for the Judicial Studies Committee between 2004 and 2008 and is an external marker for the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh.
Please note: this is an in-person event and will not be available to view online. It is free to attend but numbers are limited due space. As such, registration is required (link below).
Further details will be emailed to attendees nearer the date.
It is open to all to attend but we think it will be of particular interest to those working and studying in family and private law.
